eDNA project highlighted

I had the honor to have my eDNA research project to be chosen to be highlighted on the new UGC research portal. One of the goals of the portal is to introduce UGC-funded research projects to the public. We are getting taxpayer money to do our research, so it is important to be transparent and show how that money is being spent. It’s good because it forces me to think about and explain why my work is important and how it contributes to society. Also I get to tell my personal story of how I became a researcher. Hopefully it makes the job of a scientist less mysterious and encourages kids to consider it for their career!
